Ingredients

Scale

Fudge Base

  • 10 ounces milk chocolate
  • 10 ounces dark chocolate
  • ¼ cup bourbon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk (1 can)
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Optional Topping

  • Pink Himalayan Sea Salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare: Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal of the fudge.
  2. Melt: Cut the chocolates into large pieces. Place them in a heatproof bowl set over simmering water on the stovetop. Stir frequently until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Cook: Add the butter and sweetened condensed milk to the melted chocolate. Cook and stir for 1-2 minutes until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. The mixture will be very thick at this stage.
  4. Flavor: Stir in the bourbon, vanilla extract, and salt thoroughly until well combined.
  5. Pour: Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking pan. Press it down firmly and smooth the top with a spatula or the back of a spoon.
  6. Salt (Optional): Sprinkle Pink Himalayan Sea Salt evenly over the top of the fudge to add a savory contrast to the sweetness.
  7. Set: Refrigerate the fudge for about 2 hours to allow it to firm up completely.
  8. Remove: Once set, take the fudge out of the refrigerator and lift it out of the pan using the parchment paper. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to soften slightly for easier cutting.
  9. Cut: Use a sharp knife to cut the fudge into squares. For clean cuts, run the knife under hot water, wipe it dry, then slice the fudge carefully.

Notes

  • Make sure the chocolate is melted gently over simmering water to avoid burning.
  • The fudge mixture will be very thick before setting, which is normal.
  • Allowing the fudge to come to room temperature before cutting helps prevent cracking.
  • Running the knife under hot water and wiping it dry helps achieve smooth, clean cuts.
  • Sprinkling sea salt on top enhances the flavor by balancing the sweetness.
  • Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
