This quick and easy bread recipe allows you to make delicious, fluffy bread in just 10 minutes using simple pantry ingredients. Perfect for a quick snack or a side dish, you can customize it with herbs, cheese, garlic powder, or seeds to suit your taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Basic Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour (can substitute with whole wheat flour)
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • 1 cup Milk (dairy or plant-based)

Optional Add-ons

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 handful Chopped herbs
  • 1 cup Grated cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Seeds

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder until they are well combined to ensure even rising.
  2. Add Milk: Slowly pour in the milk while stirring constantly with a spoon or spatula until a thick, slightly sticky dough forms. Be careful not to overmix to keep the bread tender and light.
  3. Incorporate Optional Ingredients: If desired, add garlic powder, chopped herbs, grated cheese, or seeds to the dough and gently fold them in to infuse flavor.
  4. Preheat Skillet: Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil or butter to prevent sticking and add flavor.
  5. Form Dough Rounds: Drop large spoonfuls of dough onto the hot skillet, shaping them into rounds about one inch thick. Press gently to flatten if necessary for even cooking.
  6. Cook First Side: Cook for 4-5 minutes until the bottoms turn golden brown and bubbles form on the surface, indicating it is ready to flip.
  7. Flip and Cook Second Side: Flip the rounds carefully and cook for another 3-5 minutes until the other side is also golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped, signifying it is cooked through.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove the bread from the skillet, let it cool for one minute, and enjoy warm with your favorite toppings or dips.
