Ingredients

Scale

For the Filling:

  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • ½ cup buffalo sauce (adjust for spice preference)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp ranch or blue cheese dressing
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika

For the Dough:

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough or pizza dough
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • Crumbled bacon for a smoky crunch
  • Diced jalapeños for extra heat
  • Chopped green onions for freshness

Instructions

  1. Make the Filling: In a bowl, mix the cooked shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese, ranch or blue cheese dressing, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir until all ingredients are well combined and creamy.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Roll out the crescent roll or pizza dough and cut it into equal squares approximately 3 inches in size. Each square will hold one portion of filling.
  3. Shape the Bombs: Place a spoonful of the buffalo chicken filling into the center of each dough square. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching tightly to seal and then roll gently into a smooth ball to prevent any leaks during cooking.
  4. Choose Your Cooking Method:
For Baking: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and place the bombs on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with egg wash or melted butter for a golden finish. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the dough is golden brown.
For Air Frying: Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C). Arrange the bombs in a single layer and air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking halfway through to ensure even cooking.
For Frying: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the bombs in oil for 2-3 minutes on each side until crispy and golden. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  5. Serve & Enjoy: Serve the buffalo chicken bombs warm accompanied by ranch or blue cheese dressing. For a classic pairing, add celery and carrot sticks on the side to complement the spicy flavor.

Notes

  • You can customize the spice level by adjusting the amount of buffalo sauce or adding diced jalapeños.
  • Use crescent roll dough for a flakier texture or pizza dough for a chewier bite.
  • Adding crumbled bacon or green onions to the filling can enhance flavor and texture.
  • Make sure to seal the dough tightly to prevent the filling from leaking during cooking.
  • These bombs can be made ahead and refrigerated; bake or air fry just before serving.
