Ingredients

Scale

Sandwiches

  • 112 count package Hawaiian rolls (dinner rolls work as substitute)
  • 12 ounces sliced deli turkey or thinly sliced leftover turkey
  • 8 ounces sliced Havarti cheese
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce

Butter Sauce

  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare the Buns: Slice the slab of Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half, creating separate top and bottom layers.
  3. Assemble Bottom Layer: Lightly grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and place the bottom halves of the buns into the dish evenly.
  4. Add Cheese and Turkey: Spread half of the Havarti cheese slices over the bottom buns, then layer all the sliced turkey evenly on top of the cheese.
  5. Add Cranberry Sauce: Evenly spread the cranberry sauce over the turkey layer, distributing it to cover the surface.
  6. Top with Cheese and Buns: Lay the remaining Havarti cheese slices over the cranberry sauce, then cover with the top halves of the buns.
  7. Make Butter Sauce: In a small bowl, melt the butter and stir in poppy seeds, sesame seeds, Dijon mustard, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar until well combined.
  8. Brush Buns: Using a pastry brush, evenly coat the tops and sides of the buns with the prepared butter sauce mixture.
  9. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15-20 minutes until the sliders are heated through and the cheese has melted.
  10. Crisp the Tops: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes to crisp and lightly brown the tops of the buns.
  11. Cool and Serve: Let the sliders cool slightly before serving to allow flavors to settle and prevent burns.

Notes

  • If cranberry sauce is unavailable, you can substitute with fresh cranberries cooked down with sugar or a cranberry relish.
  • Hawaiian rolls are preferred for their sweetness and softness, but any soft dinner rolls will work.
  • Leftover roasted turkey or deli turkey slices both work well for this recipe.
  • For a spicier kick, consider adding a dash of cayenne pepper to the butter sauce.
  • Sliders can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated; then baked just before serving.
