Ingredients

Scale

Truffles

  • 1 box Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
  • 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles

Coating and Decoration

  • 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
  • 3 tablespoons red candy melts (optional, for drizzling)
  • Green sanding sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cakes: Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and place them into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Form the dough: Using a handheld mixer, mix the cakes until a crumbly dough forms. Stir in the festive sprinkles evenly throughout the mixture.
  3. Shape the truffles: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll them between your palms to form smooth balls. Place each one on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Continue until all dough is used.
  4. Melt white chocolate: Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl using short bursts of 20-30 seconds, stirring in between, or melt gently using a double boiler until smooth.
  5. Coat the truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled cake ball fully into the melted white chocolate. Allow excess chocolate to drip off, then place the coated truffles back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Melt and drizzle red candy melts: Melt the red candy melts in a piping bag or ziplock bag in 30-second intervals in the microwave, massaging the bag between sessions until fluid.
  7. Decorate the truffles: Snip a small hole in the corner of the bag and drizzle the red candy melts over the white-coated truffles. Sprinkle with green sanding sugar for extra festive flair.
  8. Set and serve: Refrigerate the truffles for a few minutes until the chocolate sets completely. Enjoy these tasty holiday treats fresh!

Notes

  • You can substitute white chocolate with different candy melts to customize flavors.
  • Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep them fresh up to one week.
  • For easier handling, chill the dough balls before dipping in chocolate.
  • If you don’t have festive sprinkles, mini red and green nonpareils make a good alternative.
